BOLT 101/103 and 102
BOLT 101/103 and 102

BOLT 101/103 This course is actually comprised of two separate, but equally valuable courses.

  • BOLT 101 Administrative Training course is the first step for new instructors and is designed to help them become familiar with the policies, procedures, and protocols that impact their roles as educators for Barton Online. It is also a great resource for veteran teachers looking to verify or refresh their knowledge of those same topics and areas. The BOLT 101 has six modules: Start Here.
  • BOLT 103 course will step you through the process of developing an effective, interactive, and professional eCourse. Additionally, this course represents a substantial portion of the eCertification process as it serves to professionally develop the skill sets of Barton Online instructors and guide them through the process of creating an online course that will meet the minimum expectations of the eCourse Improvement process. The BOLT 103 is broken into 8 sections that correspond with the Canvas Appraisal Checklist and Rubric.

BOLT 102 is not designed as a course with assignments or a beginning and end. It is more of a supplement to the Canvas Guides with more Barton-centric answers. We have packed the 102 with Canvas FAQs and Barton specific tips for online teaching and course shell creation whether you are on ground, online or hybrid.

Why is a Practice Exam is Important? - It ensures your first exam using LockDown Browser runs smoothly! Have students take an ungraded practice quiz that requires the use of LockDown Browser, before the graded exam occurs. Leave the quiz available for the duration of the course, with unlimited attempts, so students can access it again if they use a different computer.
